Tony Moly PikaPika Lip Tints

Hey guys!

Just wanted to wish everyone a very happy new year! Goodbye 2016, hello 2017!

Whether you had a good year or a bad year or a mix of both, look forward and remain positive for what there is to come for the new year. Just remember that things happen for a reason whether they’re good or bad. Don’t look back into the past but continue to look forward into the present. Do more things that make you happy or continue to explore to find new interests.

I had a conversation with a coworker the other day about how blogging makes me happy. It’s a way for me to express how I feel about things that I love or simply things that interest me.

In 2016, Pokemon Go was released. Tony Moly released a line featuring first generation Pokemon on their makeup/skincare products. In case you didn’t know, I’m a sucker for cute packaging. It’s very easy to tempt me to buy something I don’t need. When I came across their line, I had to purchase a few items to try out for myself. I never purchased any of their products before but they are a well-known Korean cosmetic brand. They have a wide range of products such as lip tints, hand creams, face masks, face wash, and much more!

I’ll be reviewing their PikaPika Get It Lip Tints this week. Other products that I purchased will be featured at a later time. They have 3 different shades but I purchased two of them from Yesstyle.com for $10.90USD each.

The packaging is extremely cute. It features a different kind of Pikachu on each of the bottles. Pikachu is printed on the container. It’s not a sticker that was stuck on there (just in case some of you were wondering). Definitely collectible after all the product is used up.

When I did a color swatch on the back of my hand, the colors were very pigmented. Both tints had a fruity scent to it. The coral color looked a little too orange for me. But are you curious about how it turned out looking like on my lips? After applying a sheer coat of product on my natural lip color, the colors turned out pretty nice. Surprisingly!

The clear coral color leaves a natural peachy tint to your lips. Good for those natural “no makeup” makeup days.

Tony Moly Pokemon PikaPika Get It Tint (#03 Red Joy)

The red joy is perfect for the holidays! Even though Christmas and New Years may have passed, you can still wear this red lip for any special occasion. Some special days coming up include Lunar New Years on January 28 and/or Valentines Day on February 14. 😉

If you prefer to have a bolder lip color, the tint is buildable. Applying two coats of the product can make the color very vibrant.

The stain from the tint will leave your lips with a nice flush of color. I personally prefer lip tints over lipsticks because it’s less maintenance. I don’t have to constantly reapply and touch up as often.

Something important to note about the packaging (I think you should know). There’s a separate cap for the tint that is inside the cover. You need to pull off the rectangle cover before you can access the cap.

When I used it for the first time, I initially thought the rectangle cap and cover was one piece. I started twisting away to open the bottle. Eventually, the cap got stuck in the cover. dsc05926-blog

I wasn’t able to close the bottle because the cap was twisted in too deep. I tried to pull the cap out using the applicator rod and guess what happened? The applicator came apart and the cap remained stuck in the cover. Sigh.

It took me some time to figure out how to remove the cap but I did it! I was able to get the cap removed and got the bottle to close again. It was definitely very messy in the process. I ended up staining my fingers. Oops!

Just thought I would share my little makeup mishap because I thought it was funny how everything all happened.

But overall, I really like the lip tint. I think it’s a very good product that’s affordable. Extremely pigmented with very cute packaging. Just remember to pull off the cover before you start twisting the cap for the applicator. Don’t be like me and get the cap stuck. Be careful not to kiss your honey or babe right after applying this as well because it will stain their cheeks like how it stained my fingers. Ha! You can blot your lips with tissue before you kiss them. 😛

Have a wonderful day! Thanks again for stopping by!

Until next time!

❤️ Connie

  1. Hi! Nice review these liptints look great on you! I noticed that you actually got the two caps stuck together and guess what, the same exact thing happened to me LOL I was wondering how did you unstick them? I was messing around with tonymoly liptints in this style and the same exact thing happened to me D: I hate how I can’t close the bottle, and my hands are so stained now.

    1. Aww. I’m really sorry to hear that you encountered the same mishap! Unfortunately, the cap and the cover is a little tricky. The cap has the spiral pattern on the inside that screws onto the top of the bottle of the lip tint. You need to push the cover down to the bottle and turn it JUST A LITTLE BIT so the spiral inside the cap can catch onto the spiral of the bottle. Once you feel the slight attachment, then you pull the cover upward. The cap should unstick from the cover. You need to feel for that slight connection of the spirals before you pull the cover. Let me know if that works for you. That’s how I was able to get the two caps to unstick from each other.

  2. I know!! I have the same one but with the normal packaging and I really dislike the cap. I spent like 30 minutes trying to close the lid but it didn’t work so I gave up lol. I ended up succeeding later on, but I don’t know how.
