Do you like getting manicures? Do you prefer getting it professionally done or doing it yourself at home? Personally, I like doing it at home. Never have I ever gone to the salon to get it professionally done. I guess that’s a little fun fact about myself. It’s kind of hard to believe but it’s true. I’ve always done my nails at home.
Awhile back, I received a nail polish in my Ipsy subscription that I never got a chance to try out. It’s nail polish by Julie G. Julie G products can be found on Jesse’s Girl website. I reviewed the Jesse’s Girl eyeliner two months ago. They’re a cruelty free beauty brand.
The color I received is in Damsel. It’s a mid-tone pink shade. On their website, the nail polish is only $3.99USD. Really affordable! They also have a wide range of colors as well.
How I Do My Nails at Home
- Apply a base coat. I like to use my OPI Nail Envy as a base. It acts as a nail strengthener.
- Apply colored nail polish. I normally apply two coats of colored nail polish. After the first coat of Julie G, the color was already really opaque.
- Add embellishments or glitter. I added a gem glitter nail sticker to both of my ring fingers for this nail look.
- Finish off with a top coat. I love using the fast drying top coat by Seche Vite.
Voilà! Pretty nails! I’m really happy with the results. The quality of the nail polish is really great as well. Doing your nails at home isn’t hard. Practice definitely makes perfect.
When I was younger, I didn’t like to do my nails because of how long I had to wait for my nails to dry. After I discovered Seche Vite fast drying top coat, I don’t mind doing my nails anymore whenever I have the time. It’s such a life saver. It dries my nails within 5 minutes. A tip? Invest in a good fast drying top coat. It will save you time and money in the long run.
That’s all for today. Thanks for stopping by.
Until next time!
P.S. I am no nail or salon professional. I’m just sharing what works for me and hope it works for you too.
