Hey guys!
Today is another Sephora Play Box review. I actually got an item that I really wanted to try out.
This month’s drawstring back is Makeup Geek themed.
My play box included the following six items.
- Beauty Blender Micro Mini
- Kat Von D Lock It Concealer
- Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick
- Lancer The Method Polish
- Alterna Haircare Caviar Anti-Aging Mist
- Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Fragrance
I’m going to review the beauty blender and the foundation stick.
Beauty Blender Micro Mini
This is my first official beauty blender! I own puffs that are similar but never the original.
- Mini applicator
- Super soft and bouncy
- Doubles in size with water
- Perfect to use for smallest parts of your face
I personally like using this around the inner corner of my eyes and the sides of my nose. This tool works great. Just remember to wash it after every use.
Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick
The shade that I received is in Shell. This is a product I’ve been dying to try out since it was launched.
I’m currently looking for a foundation that could replace my Urban Decay Naked Foundation. The foundation worked well with my oily/combination skin for the past couple of years. It’s starting to look and feel different on my skin. I think our skin changes over a period of time. It definitely doesn’t stay the same forever. I’m currently going through the dilemma of trying to break up with a holy grail foundation.
I’m giving this foundation stick a shot to possibly be my next holy grail. I’m currently using the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. I absolutely love it. It primes my skin so nicely and makes it feel so smooth. I’m sure the primer and foundation would work great together.
The shade Shell is a little light for my skin during the summer. I think the shade will be perfect for me in the Winter.
Most light colored foundations can be quickly fixed with a little bit of blending and a little bit of contouring. Bronzers help add dimension to the face.
As you can see to the left, I don’t have any makeup on. There are large pores on my nose, redness on my cheeks, couple of pimples and some acne scars.
The Vanish Foundation Stick evened out my complexion.
- Buildable coverage
- Satin finish
- No parabens, sulfates, and phthalates
- Long-wearing formula
The foundation slowly adjusted to the temperature of my skin. It melted into my skin and blended so nicely. I’m really liking the foundation so far. The stick foundation allows me to apply the appropriate amount of product. I personally like using light coverage foundations but it’s definitely buildable to medium or full coverage.
I used the foundation stick as a concealer under my eyes. I’m really happy it did not crease. However, the foundation accentuated the dry patches on my noise. I don’t think the foundation is good for people with dry skin. My nose is dry because I extracted my blackheads couple of days ago causing skin around that area to break. It normally takes about a week for it to fully recover.
I’m really looking forward to take this product with me to Mexico this weekend. I will be testing it out for another week in the hot humid weather. I’ll provide an update if my impression differs.
Thanks for stopping by. Until next time!
❤️ Connie
