Happy last day of January! Holiday is over and winter session of school is done. I’m able to start testing and reviewing products once again.
I originally wanted to do my usual monthly makeup subscription posts. I haven’t reviewed what I received from Ipsy & Sephora for about two months. Stay tuned for those product reviews within the next couple of weeks.
Instead, I decided to write about a mystery bag I recently purchased from PUR. PUR is a cruelty-free makeup brand. I never owned any of their products before but I came across their brand on Black Friday when I was shopping at Ulta. I swatched their Eye Polish. The pigmentation was really nice and shimmery.
Last week, I came across a post about their mystery bag. I decided to purchase it to see what kind of products I would get. Surprises are always fun. It was a really good deal. For only $20.41 USD (includes shipping), I got 5 full-size products and a free makeup bag. The website states that the bag contains products that has a total value of $115 USD but it was on sale for $20 USD.
PUR Mystery Bag
The package came with a sleek makeup bag.
Please keep in mind that the products in every mystery bag will vary slightly but the mystery bag product posting mentioned that it includes two new items released in 2017 and one of their bestselling palettes. 😍
The 5 full-size products I received are below.
- Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette (Value: $34 USD)
- Purminerals Ultility Mineral Makeup Brush (Value: $16 USD)
- On Point Eyeliner Pencil (Value: $19 USD)
- Cease Crease Eyeshadow Primer (Value: $18 USD)
- Big Look Mascara (Value: $21 USD)
I just think the price point is really worth the value especially if the mystery bag guarantees a palette. I’m going to review the palette and the eyeliner.
Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette
I really love the packaging of the palette. It has rose gold accents and a white marble print. So pretty! I love rose gold.
The palette comes with 12 shades (8 matte shades and 4 shimmer shades).
When I swatched the shades on the first row, it was not pigmented because of how fair the shades are. It just blends right into my skin. Haha! 😳
However, I do like the pigmentation of the shades on the second and third row of the palette.
The eyeshadows were smooth and easy to blend.
On Point Eyeliner Pencil
The shade that I received is in Heartless, which is the name of their black.
The packaging is really sleek. The tip of a gel pencil eyeliner is typically very thick which makes it difficult to draw a precise line. You can compare gel pencil eyeliner tips with my review on the Make Up Forever Aqua XL Eye Pencil or Japan Visee Super Slim Gel Liner.
To my surprise, the point of the eyeliner is extremely fine. The product is creamy and slides onto the skin smoothly. No need to tug at the eye to draw a winged line. Longwear and waterproof formula.
Did I forget to mention this eyeliner is “self-sharpening?” That’s a pretty unique and neat concept. There’s a sharpener inside the cap of the eyeliner pencil.
I haven’t had a chance to try the eyeshadow primer but I am excited about the product. I’m currently still using the one from Elizabeth Moth. Once I’m done with that, I’ll try the one by PUR.
Thank you for stopping by. Until next time!
P.S. I would love to hear about what you received in your mystery bag. If you also tried other products from PUR, let me know your thoughts about the brand. 😊
