Happy Wednesday and Happy Valentines Day (or Single Awareness Day)! 😃
I had an early Valentines Day weekend getaway in Pismo Beach. It was my first time there. The view there was absolutely stunning. It was a really relaxing weekend.
We also stopped by Butterfly Grove. Pretty neat to see so many butterflies fluttering around in the trees.
Just remember that regardless of what day it is, you can always spend some time sharing love with someone else and/or yourself. 😊
For the month of December, Sephora Play had a “Glam Straight” theme. The drawstring bag was made of a nice satin material. 😍
They included great products to help end the year of 2017. My December play box included the following 5 items and a sample perfume, which is not featured in this post.
- Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Shadow Duo
- Dry Bar Triple Sec 3-in-1
- Clinique Pretty Easy Eyelining Pen
- Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick
- Dr. Jart+ Tiger Grass Cream
For today’s review, I’m going tried the eye shadow duo and the lipstick.
Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Shadow Duo
The duo I received is called Golden Hour. It contains the shade Turned On, which is a warm pink shade, and Psyched, which is a warm burgundy shade.
Both shades have a bit of shimmers in them. It’s really subtle.
The swatches are very warm and bronzy. A good thing about this duo is that one shade is lighter and the other shade is darker. You can turn an AM look into a PM look by darkening the outer corner of your eyes with Psyched. It helps add a bit of dimension to the eyes.
The eye shadow duo is so compact that it’s easy to travel with.
Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick
The shade that I received is in M401 Hot Red.
- Formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates
- Long-wearing formula
- Ultra-matte velvety finish
- Intense color pigmentation
- Great coverage
- Does not accentuate dry patches on the lips
The formula is not drying. It’s pretty hydrating for a matte lipstick. I like the red. It’s not as bold as I expected. 🙂
Overall, I’m really happy with the items that I tried. To my surprise when I looked up the Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick line, it has about 53 shades between matte and satin finishes. That’s a lot of shades to choose from. If the shade Hot Red isn’t for you, I’m sure there’s a shade in their line that you may like.
Thank you for stopping by. Until next time!
P.S. Have you seen what I got from Sephora Play in prior months?
